On June 7, 2013, THE DENVER POST STAFF writer Andy Vuong, wrote an article entitled: Experts:Data Seizure OK, Verizon scandal shows the government can take electronic info at any time.
Vuong states that it’s understood by many that experts with special hardware can recover much deleted data on the computer and “stitch it back together.” That’s true with text messages, face book posts, communications sent over a telephone and Internet network,

On Monday, June 10, 2013, The Guardian reported that Edward Snowden was behind the disclosure of numerous top-secret documents to the public, stating “he was determined not to opt for the protection of anonymity. ‘I have no intention of hiding who I am because I know I have done nothing wrong’, he said.”

I just read a blog on the online Foreign Policy Magazine “REPORTING INSIDE THE FOREIGN POLICY MAGAZINE “ THE CABLE, an article entitled Congressman: Obama is letting China steal U.S. military secrets. As you might imagine, that headline got my attention. That’s because for the past several months we’ve been bombarded with news related to the Chinese attempts to obtain U.S. military secrets.
Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH), chairman of the house subcommittee on the middle East and South Asia,

On May 29, 2013, Colin Fletcher, writer for the examiner.com website, wrote an article entitled: Gov. Christie performed his job with class and dignity. Fletcher was impressed with Gov. Christie’s cordiality towards Pres. Obama when he revisited the Jersey shore again, when, seven months ago Super-storm Sandy severely punished the famous coastline.
The question is whether or not Governor Christie’s warmth and geniality is the real thing and represents a prototype of things to come in the world of politics whereby the chasm between the Democrats and the Republicans disappears,

Do we really live in a democracy or has police state tactics ruled the day? I wouldn’t have put my query quite so harshly if the National Rifle Association (NRA), with its ruthless tactics and uncompromising political stance, wasn’t so blatant and obvious that when it came to gun control legislation, as far as they are concerned, no compromise should be made. For to make compromise, some of the control the NRA has over gun legislation would have to be forfeited.

In my book What Would Our Founding Fathers Say?: How Today’s Leaders Have Lost Their Way, I talk about the importance of integrity that all politicians should have if they’re going to serve the public well. In writing the Constitution, the Founding Fathers believed that each citizen, politician and non-politician alike, be people of integrity. That simply means in order for a country to operate optimally and serve all the people as the Constitution intended them to be served,

Clearly, using political sequestration as a political maneuver to stimulate political compromise would definitely be contrary to what our Founding Fathers would have envisioned as to how political parties should try to resolve differences. That’s because doing that runs contrary to their concept of ‘public virtue’ which was one of the four Freedom Foundations that the writing of our Constitution was founded upon. Public virtue speaks to the need a democratic republic has for its members to voluntarily sacrifice personal benefit for something greater than themselves.

As the title of this blog suggests Like the Founding Fathers, Ordinary People Can Do Extraordinary Things. The only problem is the sentence needs an ending. To make it complete, it should read: “Like the Founding Fathers, ordinary people can do extraordinary things if they become other centered, utilize their private and public virtues, their integrities, which is to follow their hearts by being empathetic and compassionate, and by using their moral compasses, thoughtfully work toward something greater than themselves,

On my last week’s blog I discussed how our Founding Fathers were an exceptional lot, and touched upon why that was so. This week I will show how ordinary working people of today can exhibit the same treasured personality characteristic that our Founding Fathers exhibited when they founded our country and wrote the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
As I mentioned in my last blog, the principles for living happy,

In order for our government to meet the expectations of the citizenry it serves, our politicians need to follow the two freedoms under which our Constitution was written, called private and public virtue. They haven’t been doing that of late. As a result, over the years, our system of government has become broken, resulting in the needs of many Americans not being met.
Private virtue involves your personal integrity which urges you to follow your heart and your moral compass,
