On April 10th, 2013, on my blog, (Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness), I discussed how Mahatma Gandhi’s definition of happiness applied to our Founding Fathers, when the 55 delegates all gathered in Philadelphia between May and September, 1787, to write the Constitution.
Having just come off winning a hard fought and bloody Revolutionary War, our Founding Fathers were all of similar or of like minds in thinking they wanted to assure each other and the country that what they did at the Constitutional Convention was a recipe in how to preserve life,

In May, 1787, 55 delegates from the 13 states gathered in Philadelphia to represent them at the Constitutional Convention, held in Philadelphia. They were chosen to write a document to replace the most inadequate current governing text, the Articles of Confederation. The main reason the Articles were inadequate as a governing document was because it gave the 13 states too much power and sovereignty for the federal government to exert any effective authority over them. Since the Founding Fathers had relatively recently won a bloody battle with England to safeguard America’s freedoms,

In my book, What Would Our Founding Fathers Say?, I talk about the importance of not only all of us periodically reflecting on our lives from time to time, but for politicians to reflect on their political lives as well. The reason that’s important is because that is the only way we each have in maintaining our personal, and in the case of politicians, their political sense of integrity, which Mitt Romney destroyed when he made his “47 percent” judgment error statement.

The main purpose of the Constitution is to establish the basic rights of all American citizen. The Constitution of the United States of America defines a framework for the country’s law and order. Any law that is proposed must not violate the 27 amendments, for in those amendments are the sacred rights that protects what our American citizens may or may not do. They are free to do whatever they wish, as long as it doesn’t violate any of the various amendments that are listed as part of in the Constitution,

“To thine own self be true,” was a phrase spoken by Polonius in Hamlet. It means ‘do not deceive yourself’. The full quote is:
to thine own self be true,
and it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man
This quote could certainly apply to our own lives and politicians lives as well. But today we’ll confine our discussion to how the quote “ to thine own self be true,” applies to politicians’ lives.

The Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) has recently allowed federal airport screeners to allow passengers to carry onto a plane small knives – with blades less than 2.36 inches or 6 centimeters long – as well as sporting equipment, including golf clubs, billiard cues, ski poles, hockey and lacrosse sticks.
A TSA spokesperson said that a passenger wielding a small knife or swinging a golf club or hockey stick poses less of a threat to the pilot locked in the cockpit,

Our Founding Fathers were remarkable men – which, of course, was because of what they did for our country. More specifically, I learned to appreciate them for being able to put aside their own petty self interests for the greater good. An example of doing just that was their ability to put our fledging nation on the right track by coming together to write the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Considering their diverse backgrounds, divergent interests and passionate concerns,

Who suffers when our national integrity is abused by our elected politicians? Each citizen, aside from the politician who has violated his or her promise to protect and support the “We, the People” Country’s bible, our Constitution.
There’s a plethora of examples that could be found at any time, where at least one or more of our esteemed (?) politicians have committed some type of malfeasance that has violated the intent and aim of writing the Constitution in the first place.

National Shooting Sports Foundation Fights Gun Control from Newtown
On January 24, 2013, Michael Daly, a special reporter for the daily beast.com website posted an article entitled National Shooting Sports Foundation Fights Gun Control From Newtown.
Daly writes, “Minutes from the scene of the Sandy Hook massacre, a leading gun-industry trade association is rallying against those ‘seeking to destroy the Second Amendment.’”
I really take exception toward “leading gun-industry trade association” members stating those seeking stricter gun legislation are doing so because they are trying to “destroy the Second Amendment.”

On November 27, 2012, Doug Bandow wrote an article on the Freeman website, entitled, THE FUTURE BELONGS TO LIBERTY, Indivisible Liberty: Personal, Political, and Economic.
In Bandow’s article, he said, “…when it comes to economic liberty, a lot of people suddenly change their tune. It’s as if economic liberty doesn’t count. Indeed, this facet of freedom seems to stand alone, vulnerable to state regulation and control.”
We have to ask ourselves why the regulation happened in the first place?
