“He is who he is,” Melania Trump told People Magazine earlier this year. “Even if you give him advice, he will maybe take it in, but then he will do it the way he wants to do it. You cannot change a person. Let them be. Let them be the way they are.”
Although I’m sure Melania meant her words to be an asset and compliment to her husband’s personality, I see the characteristics she describes as being a huge liability to his being the forty-fifth president of the United States.

Our Founding Fathers were remarkable men – which, of course, was because of what they did for our country. More specifically, I learned to appreciate them for being able to put aside their own petty self interests for the greater good. An example of doing just that was their ability to put our fledging nation on the right track by coming together to write the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Well, I decided to change course and write this blog because of what I see happening in our world of politics today.
As a country, we are getting way off course in what we should be focusing on as a nation.

It’s obvious that I, like so many other Americans, feel like our system of government is broken. The reason it’s so dysfunctional is that Congress and the president are not representing the people, but rather the political party to which they are a member. This is all done at the expense of not serving the people through the Constitution that they swore to serve and protect.
As American citizens, who pay their taxes and obey the laws of the land,
